String.getBytes()

Description

Copies the String's characters to the supplied buffer.

Syntax

myString.getBytes(buf, len)

Parameter Values

  • myString: a variable of type String.
  • buf: the buffer to copy the characters into. Allowed data types: array of byte.
  • len: the size of the buffer. Allowed data types: unsigned int.

Return Values

  • Nothing

If the string is modified, it is highly recommended using String.reserve() to prevent the memory fragmentation issue
